Each year NCTHDA has an award for the highest pointed Border Collie and also the highest pointed Loose Eyed Breed. The points system is as follows:

Points come from top 10 trials. Six (6) points for first place, 5 pts for second, 4 pts for third, 3 pts for forth, 2 pts for 5th and 1 pt for qualifying. There are 5 additional pts for High in Trial and 4 additional pts for Reserve HIT. The award is made for points are accumulated for each calendar year January 1 - December 31.

The points are accumulative. As an example; at a given trial the dog could accumulate 3 points by qualifying in B course Started Sheep, A course Intermediate Sheep and A course Advanced Ducks. Then if one of those scores was a first place the dog would be credited with an additional 6 points. An additional 5 or 4 points would be credited if the dog was High In trial or Reserve High In Trial. Also, additional placements of say 3rd and 5th would earn and additional 6 points.

NOTICE: If you have accumulated points so far this year, please send the information to Mary Campbell. Mary wants the trial points forwarded to her by 1/31/2009.

You can e-mail to Mary at mc4udmxhs@yahoo.com. She needs dog's name, trial with date, placement or qualifying and # of points.

OK - so you don't remember what your dog did at a particular trial. AKC now has the results of all trials online!! You can access them by going to "http://www.akc.org/events/search/index.cfm?action=results and following the search criteria for "Herding," click on the "show" of interest and then click on "results. It takes several weeks for the results to get on line, so the results for the more recent shows are not immediately available
